Hey guys 👋 welcome back to another SkinLovin’ Sundays post as part of my weekly blog series! For those of you who are new to The Typical Beauty Blog or those of you who don’t follow me… yet 😜 its basically a series which I started to focus exclusively on skincare. So if thats something which you fancy then make sure to check every Sunday 🗓. In these weekly posts I’m gonna try to focus less on products & more on techniques & tips for you guys… so let’s get started 👉 Today’s topic is: “Facial massaging”
Many people, including celebrities swear by massaging their face every evening, I’m not talking about heading of to your nearest spa & getting a facial 💁 …I’m talking about sitting on your bed in the evening & actually just using your fingers to massage your face! Doing this is said to have many benefits all of which result in younger looking, healthier & bouncy skin… think of it like a natural FREE anti-ageing technique 🙌
Stimulate an increase in blood flow
Massaging an area of your face 👩🏻 (& I’m pretty sure this rule applies to every part of your body) stimulates an increase in blood flow, so if your skin is looking sort of blue like its lacking colour & vibrancy or its just looking DULL in general then you’ll notice a huge difference after massaging your face daily. Apart from being extremely therapeutic & relaxing this will help to saturate your Dermis with oxygen, as oxygen is carried around in the blood, bringing your skin to life. All of which results in a much better complexion.
Wrinkles be gone
As you probably know from my previous posts in this series such as The Importance of Sleep 😴 or The Benefits of Water 💧 you’ll have read about how wrinkles age the skin. Those little pesky fine lines are particularly visible around the mouth 👄 & the eyes 👁👁 & they come about for many reasons. Talking on a more biological level they come about in the Dermis layer of the skin, which is just beneath the Epidermis. This layer is full of collagen & elastic fibres all of which are connected by many, many blood vessels. As you can imagine the less blood that flows here, the less oxygen is provided & therefore the more susceptible you are to getting wrinkles in that area👎
Increase levels of collagen
There are many longterm benefits of massaging the face everyday, which include increasing the amount of collagen molecules present in the skin. Collagen molecules are basically like the building blocks of your skin, so imagine they’re bricks… the more collagen you have, the better your skin will be 👌 Facial massages also help get rid of congestion which is in your skin, this is kind of hard to explain but apparently it has something to do with salt levels & puffiness. Certain techniques can be used to massage the skin in such a way to drain the congestion & healthier skin glows from the inside✨
A 2 minute ⏲ facial massage has many benefits right? Do you massage your face on the regular? Let me know 👇 I hope this post has been interesting & that you’ve enjoyed reading it, if you did then please don’t forget to click ‘like’ down below 👇 & follow me for more! 😁
