My ALL-TIME favourite foundation brush πŸ–Œ

Hey everyone πŸ‘‹Β let me start by saying that this isn’t just my favourite brush to use when applying foundation cause I also use this brush to buff out my concealer, colour corrector & anything else I apply to the base of my make up. Its just such a versatile brush made with amazingly densely packed bristles, that leave a flawless finish behind. So if you wanna know more keep on reading πŸ‘‡

“Be original, Be natural, Be good”

For those who may not have come across this brand before their motto is wanting to make people feel beautiful, not just look beautiful & they do this by making sure they use nourishing minerals in all their products πŸ‘Œ. Now I’m sure the mineral elements are more so in their foundations etc (actual makeup πŸ’„Β ) rather than their makeup tools, but you can immediately tell that they put time & effort into using GOOD materials/ingredients for their products.

The Typical Beuaty Blog Bareminerals Stippling Brush2

Bristles tighter than a group of friends πŸ˜…

Just look at her 😍 …doΒ you see what I mean about the densely packed bristles? Somehow it works so well in giving a SMOOTH even application, to a very BUILD-ABLE coverage. It also doesn’t pack products on too heavily so you won’t end up with aΒ cake face πŸŽ‚… I mean unless you wanna be cake faced πŸ™‹, then you go ahead & cake up your face babygirl 😘. This brush was actually my first purchase of “getting proper makeup stuff” I remember the day so clearly! I walked into Debenhams to get a foundation & ended up choosing the Estee Lauder Double Wear, which you can read my thoughts onΒ hereΒ . I then asked the lady how I should apply it, to which she recommended the BareMinerals brush. I spent just as much on this brush as I did the foundation πŸ’ΈΒ Can you believe that 😱

Acne woes

The reason why she recommended me to use this brushΒ πŸ–Œ instead of a flat foundation brush is cause I suffered from acne throughout my teens & the acne scarring left like little indents on my skin (if you suffer from the same thing you’ll know EXACTLY what I mean) but yeah so these bristles would apply the foundation on the surface of my skin as well as those indents to get an all over even application πŸ™ŒΒ I think her exact words were that the brush would apply foundation in all the bumps! haha

Precision Face Brush

So this whole time I actually thought this was a stippling brush but its actually the Precision Face Brush… which does make sense now that I think about it cause it clearly says it on the brush *facepalm* On their website they state that:

This professional brush allows you to get the exact build able coverage you’re looking for. Silky synthetic bristles are angled to fit the contours of your face for precise medium-full coverage.

Can I just say that I don’t really know much about brushes, so I didnt know the brush was made of synthetic hairs until this very moment πŸ˜…… I don’t even know if thats a standard with brushes or not? πŸ€”Β I just know that I bought this brush in summer 2014 πŸ—“ & so far I’ve had NO fall out from it πŸ™ŒΒ & theΒ bristles themselves still feel so soft too! Now just imagine how many times I’ve washed it, paying for quality definitely pays off. If I’m completely honest I don’t use specialised brush cleansers to wash my brushes πŸ™ˆΒ I know, I know thats a crime to some of you butΒ I use a hand wash… yeah thats right I useΒ this oneΒ & I can honestly say it provides such DEEP cleaning & to this day the brush still applies foundation the same exact way it did when it was brand new!

How do I use it?

Well, considering I thought it was a stippling brush this ENTIRE time I used stippling motions, which made sense to me cause I just wanted to get coverage in all the indents my face had & this worked extremely well for me, aside from the fact that my arm got tired & I was constantly being made fun of for hitting my face repeatedly haha πŸ˜… but atleast I got a coverage that LASTED all night long ⏱. Up until I bought this brush I always used those little triangle cosmetic sponges from Boots, which don’t get me wrong are awesome ( & yeah I was using sponges WAAAAAY before beauty blenders were a thing πŸ’) but shifting over to the brush was a decision which I never regretted!

IΒ hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post… If you did then please don’t forget to ‘like’ the post down below πŸ‘‡ & follow me for more! 😁 Thankyou πŸ’™

Love, Kimmiee.

    1. Yeah, I used a sponge before as well, but then once I saw people cutting theirs in half and seeing like dirty mould it just put me off so so so much I can’t imagine using them again. When I really use a sponge nowadays I use those triangle white ones from boots/superdrugs as theyre like disposable πŸ˜… I was just waaaay to grossed out, cause when I thought about it liquid foundation is moist and that moisture seeps in and all sorts of things can start growing inside the brush. But i know the beauty blender is like a world wide phenomenon in the makeup industry and theyre really good, giving such a flawless finish but my OCD just won’t let me put it on my skin again πŸ˜… xx

  2. I’ve never thought of using a brush since I use a beauty blender! I always keep it clean after hearing they sometimes get bugs in them 😬 But it works well! May need to give a brush a go though x

    1. Yeah I used one of those Real Techniques sponges (the orange one) before & the finish it left was great, but I would just constantly worry about something growing on the inside aha …so I made the switch to brushes. I feel like they leave the same finish behind tho! Try it out sometime! xx

  3. This brush sounds like exactly what I need once I finally decide to be a real adult and stop applying foundation with my fingers 😬. I’m just so lazy about cleaning brushes! But I have those acne scars as well, so it sounds like this would work much better than my fingers!

    1. Hahah don’t worry whatever works, works right? Sometimes I still use the odd finger to blend out the concealer under my eyes when I’m in a hurry! I do think that using brushes give a longer-lasting higher finish though! Thanks for reading xx

        1. Haha yeah!!! Actual mould, cause imagine washing it then not letting it dry all the way or even the liquid foundation build up! All those conditions would lead to mould, especially storing the blender in a closed bag 😷 so I just couldn’t bear to use them again after seeing so many YouTube videos! This brush is amazing though, so versatile & its such amazing quality! Xx

  4. I haven’t used this makeup brush, but I do enjoy my EcoTools makeup brushes 😊 I have the blush brush which I use for concealer. (I don’t actually use foundation) 😝 I know I should use it for the correct thing, but oh well 😜

    1. I really like EcoTools brushes! They’ve got some amazing ones! I also have the blush brush I think from them but I don’t have/use a blusher πŸ˜… so maybe I should use it for concealer too! Haha thanks for stopping by & reading xx
