Winter Skincare Routine – The Extras

The Typical Beauty Blog By Kimmiee Winter Skincare Routine 2018

Hey guys 👋 so as promised here I am with PART 2 of my winter skincare routine ❄️ as the title says this part of the routine is all about the “extras” so they’re not part of my immediate every day routine, but contain things I apply 2-3 times a week BUT before you start make sure to read 👉 this post for all my ESSENTIALS in winter skincare.

So whats first?

Since these are the extras I’ll start with something I apply ALMOST everyday (the last week I’ve been applying this everyday cause my skin got REALLY dry (if you follow my Instagram you’ll know I was having some trouble with my favourite concealer ☹️ but if you don’t follow me a) you totally should 😝 b) I mention what concealer it is here.

Ok so this is the Vitamin E Sleeping Mask from The Body Shop & if you’ve been reading the blog for a while you’ll know how much I love The Body Shop, check out my ultimate wishlist here. Sometimes I feel like lathering this on as a proper NOURISHING mask 💦 & sometimes I use it as a thicker moisturiser over my Burts Bees Night Cream 🐝 (mentioned in part 1). This sleeping mask is quite thick though so be careful not to use it TOO much or make sure you give your skin a good scrub every now & then to avoid blocked pores.

The scrub

I’m not sure if you guys noticed but I didn’t mention a scrub in part 1 & thats because I don’t use a facial scrub everyday. I’ve got very sensitive skin which gets inflamed when I scrub too much, so even though I’ve got this AMAZING scrub 🙌 that uses natural exfoliants 🌰 its still a bit harsh for me to use everyday (they don’t even recommend to use it everyday I think 🤔), but you can read all about it here.

GUYS. Take a second to memorise the name of this mask & then go to your nearest Body Shop & GET IT. Its absolutely insane. The effects are IMMEDIATE & oh my gosh the soft, supple & nourished skin is just 😍. I use this once a week (but tbh will use it more if I feel like my skin needs some good honey to drink). This mask is the sole reason I can use my favourite concealer again 🙌 Its like a winter holy grail for me now. I am LOVING IT. MY SKIN IS LOVING IT. MY FINE LINES ARE LOVING IT. EVEN MY PORES ARE LOVING IT. Ok I gotta stop hyping it up so much cause ya know when you hype something SO much it just messes up? 😅 If you guys would like a full review let me know! 👇

So I actually got excited & overused this in the beginning by applying 4 drops of this in the morning & evening… but don’t do that 😆, your skin won’t like you 🙈. Lets just say my skin prefers it when I sparingly use this & thats probably better for my wallet too 💰 & yeah I know its another one from The Body Shop ( I wasn’t kidding when I said I love it!!). So what I do now, is every 4/5 days I dispense 2 drops into the palm of my hand ✋. rub my palms together & pat it on to my face (sort of like you’d apply an essence).

Thats all

        1. Ahh I see I was in Boots the other day when I picked up the facial oil 😏 & I saw some more St. Ives facial scrubs but I didnt come across their body range… maybe thats cause it would be in the body care section and not the face care section 🙈 I’ll keep two eyes out next time hah xx
